Foster

Fosters save lives.

You're not just giving an animal a safe place to stay — you're giving them a real chance. A future filled with love, security and trust, so they feel safe enough to show their true selves. Your insight into their personality, temperament and habits is what helps us find the right forever home, faster.

Every foster home creates space for another innocent animal. It's a win-win for everyone.

Types of foster homes we need

2–6 weeks

Short-term & decompression

Fresh out of the shelter, an animal needs quiet, routine and patience while they show us who they are.

Seasonal

Kitten & puppy season

Spring through fall, litters need bottle feeders and socializers. Short commitments, huge impact.

Medical

Medical recovery

Post-surgery rest, heartworm treatment, ringworm — we train you and cover every cost.

Comfort

Hospice & senior fosters

Some animals need a soft place for their final chapter. It's the most tender work we do.

Weekend

Sleepovers & field trips

Can't commit to weeks? A weekend out of foster gives us photos, notes and a happy animal.

Foster questions

It happens so often it has a name — "foster fail." Fosters get first choice to adopt.

Typically two to six weeks. You set limits up front and we honor them.

Call us. We'll problem-solve together and, if needed, move the animal to another home. No guilt.

Yes. We match animals whose needs fit your household — adult cats and calm dogs suit busy homes well.

No. We match first-time fosters with easier animals and walk you through everything at orientation — food, routine, decompression and who to call for what.

Call your coordinator right away. All veterinary costs are covered by us, and for behavior concerns we'll help you manage it safely, connect you with training support, or move the animal to a better-suited foster. Your safety and the animal's always come first.

Tell us as early as you can. We can arrange respite boarding or a backup foster for a weekend or longer trip, or find the animal a new foster home if you need to stop altogether — no guilt, ever.
